    During The month of May 2009 Pinnacle Point decided to evaluate the cost structure of our current Food and Beverage Division at our Mossel bay operation. The decision was to benchmark our Food and Beverage service while considering the finical costs related in outsourcing the operation. On enquiry Cape Food Services came recommended and was referred to us by another leading Golf Estate in the Garden route. After a meeting with the senior management from Cape Food, we decided to engage their services.

    The report presented to us after completion was accurate, informative and decisive in its recommendations. Equipped with the facts and figures from this independent food service consultancy, Pinnacle Point was able to make informed decisions about continuing to outsource the Food and Beverage service in the Platinum and Members lounges and Half way houses or to consider returning it to an "In house" operation.

    It was clear from the detailed report and the level of information contained, that Cape Food are competent and knowledgeable and have a considerable level of operational and financial knowledge of the Food and Hospitality Industry. The project was dealt with in a confidential and professional manner. Their senior consultant communicated with us and kept us a breast of developments.

    The net result of this project was that we as the management of Pinnacle Point were able to maximise our guest satisfaction while delivering a better and more palatable financial result to our shareholders and management.

They laid out the dining room beautifully; the centre table with the sandwiches and cakes could not have looked more than just -most professional and extremely stylish. The cakes carefully cut and arranged, the sandwiches and flowers all contributing to a mouth-watering tea that tasted as good as it looked. Please compliment your management and staff.     On my 40th birthday my wife surprised me with a spitbraai at our home in Mossel bay. Cape Food Services asked me to comment on the service:

    The lamb was spit braaied to absolute perfection. Soft, succulent meat with garlic and rosemary stuffing. And the basting sauce the chef used was like no other I have eaten before. The staff arrived all dressed in chef’s uniforms, neat presentable. It was quite something to see them set up the buffet tables, plates and shining stainless steel hot dishes all with quick and practised hands. They worked hygienically and kept cleaning there hands with some special goo that they said keeps there hands germ free. Without exception all 40 guest were complimentary about the food.

    The desserts were great and my day was made. Probably the only good thing about turning 40!

    Cape Food Services and Solutions have been our caterers for 14 months, serving meals to folk from 60 to 96, some with no special requests and some with lists of what they can and cannot eat! On site Catering Management is very patient in trying to accommodate the varied palates of our residents. Our Frailcare and Assisted Living residents eat all their meals from the kitchen, whereas cottage folk may choose when to eat in the dining room. The most popular day is Friday when hake and chips are on the menu! And Sunday roasts are also well attended by cottage residents. The menu is varied and runs in a five week cycle, offering well prepared substantial portions of wholesome food. Bruce Gates, the owner of Cape Food Services and Solutions, makes regular visits to make sure we are satisfied with the service and to iron out any small problems which may arise from time to time. We feel well looked after in the catering department and in general our residents are more than happy with the food provided at by Cape Food Services and Solutions to Strombolis Retirement Village.
